No, really

On the right is a small family run metal forgery.

At various times they have deliveries coming and going.

Often this involves a forklift, a small crane type thing and a big truck.

This often takes up more than half the road.

It doesn't usually take long.

I don't mind waiting.

But they invariably come out and gesture for me to go around.

First nicely.

Then more strenuously until it's the gesture equivalent of yelling.

On the left is a 30cm deep drain.

It's covered in parts with a movable grate.

When it's covered in snow it's impossible to know where the grates are.

I don't mind waiting.

I DO mind getting stuck in a drain.

There is precedence for this. I've had to help a neighbour get his car out of a drain.  A car the size of ours would not just be a matter of three people rocking it back onto the road.

I'll wait.

No, really.

Oh, I agree! I’d prefer wait, versus get stuck in a drain or a ditch too. We have some mighty narrow roads around here too and they just wave you by and say...go around! @.@ Getting the car towed or pulled out... would take longer than just waiting in the first place, right. : )
