long time no see

Remember me?

Wow, that was quite the absence, huh?

A combination of things... life... travel... work.... addiction to reality tv.....

and finding out that the google searches that led people here included such gems as 'topl*** girls' and 'young g*** naked' which, frankly must have been quite disappointing for the searcher but also made me quite uncomfortable.

So, I stopped blogging.

But I never stopped thinking of things I wanted to write about and taking pictures of life here....

And now it's rice harvest time again and we were talking about timing and when did we drain the water last year and how is the rice comparing to last year etc etc and I realised all that info was right here!

And if I stop blogging it won't be anymore for this year and future years....

So.....

This blog is going to continue and become a blog devoted to gardening and farming and observations about the life here in the neighbourhood- but with a lot less stuff about Meg and Amy.

But then of course I would have to start writing avtual letters again... or at least emails.... or my parents and brother and sister would miss out on seeing Meg and Amy's antics.....

Gahhhhhhh!!!

So....... I have started a SECOND blog (I know right? Because I don't even write ONE regularly so obviously TWO is the answer!) and anyone whom I know to be a) a friend  b) not interested in seeing my kids n**ed (I hope everyone qualifies!) is welcome to visit there, too. I think I need to authorise you though so drop me a line.

So, anyway! That's where it stands and I'm looking forward to getting back to the writing thing.

I'd basically given up on you and just come back for your blog roll so it was a nice surprise to see an update!! Was kind of getting sick of the giant wasabi dude :) I know where you're coming from wanting to start a second blog. I've shitfted mine away and it is currently still 100% private until I sort things out. Good luck.

Hey, I would be sad if I couldn't keep reading your blog so if you wouldn't mind can I have access to your new blog?

Sorry, I am a little late, I had family visiting us here in Japan. : )Well authorize me to read the new blog on the girls! I always like hearing how the girls are doing and what they’re up to. ; ) And I’ll still read here too, to catch up on daily life stuff and farm/garden stuff.

Btw, thank you for the lovely message. And sorry I couldn’t meet up when I was in Nagano. Just no time to do it. : ( Sooner or later though, we’ll have to get together though and chat, inaka life stuff. : ) Also, would like to someday in the future grow an apple tree, and am lost at deciding which kind and would definitely need to pick your brain about all things apple...which type would you rec’d. etc. : )

Oh, that's sad. I wasn't always here for the gardening. Though that's interesting to read, it's just not as fun as the kiddos. ^^ I mean, yay! Cucumbers! -.-

I was interested the most in their school stuff and the funny things they have done. I loved when Meg had this hiragana homework to write down words with certain hiragana and you just.could't.find. any in her school dictionary, so you used an adult one and found epic words. Next day she came back with a note from the teacher saying the words are too difficult for her age and please search for words in her dictionary. :-D I laughed! So hard!

We don't know each other, but I would be so glad to be able to read about your children again.
I also don't want to see them nekkid. I mean... hallo?!... they're children. Who would... okay, don't tell me. Ugh.

We all just need a few more hours in the day hey!

I'm curious to how you know what are the words that come up most on search engines searches (totally not tech savy here. You can also turn off the option to have your blog come up on searches which saves lots of grief.

If you start a new blog I'll read, probably comment just as much as now ie sporadically!! Anyway welcome back

ohhhhh thank you all. :)

Achan to see how people find you go to blogger page then click on stats, then traffic sources and at the bottom of the page it tells you how people find your page.

The address of the new blog is http://deargrannyandgrandpa.blogspot.jp I think it should prompt you to mail me to get authorised? If it doesn't mail me at heatherarm22 at gmail.com :)

be warned though- nothing exciting there yet!

It's lovely to see you posting again.
I don't think I've commented before but I love reading about your girls and all that you do with the garden and your rural life in Nagano. (I live in Yokohama - very different!) It's so interesting to read how things are done in other parts of the country.
I hope I can read your other blog too!

I really enjoyed reading your blog about country life but also relating to bringing up/educating children in Japan, where we spent many years ourselves before returning to Australia. I would really appreciate being allowed access to your other blog, though would understand if you only want to make it available to people you know.
Thanks again for a great blog!
