That's how long it took my Friday ladies' class to make an entire Christmas Dinner- 5 of them actually (one each)- yesterday.
And as we were cooking in the community kitchen (obviously- who has five ovens, right?) that means in two hours and 37 minutes we hauled all the ingredients in, cooked, packed to take home (that in itself was an adventure as everyone underestimated the volume of a Christmas Dinner and we had to get creative with how to get our feasts home!) completely cleaned down and cleared out and even locked up and filled out the post-room use survey.
Oh, I forgot to mention that we also had two 2yo with us- in the next room with the ultra-fabulous school receptionist who didn't even flinch when I asked her to come to a different location and watch the kids in a bare and echo-ey room- but still...
And so we have lemon and herb roast chicken with roast veggies, apple and sage stuffing and gravy:
(I had to break mine down to get it in the container and I gave half to the fabulous receptionist as a thank you so this is a half quantity of what we made... it was a little generous on the proportions but hey, isn't Christmas Dinner always??
Oh, did I mention that I went straight from cooking to the school three towns away where I taught back-to-back cookie decorating classes with kinder and grade 1 kids?
It was my last day of work for this year but boy did I go out with a bang, huh?
The saving grace was coming home to a pre-prepared roast chicken though as otherwise I think it would have been cereal for tea!
