points for trying?

So, after a morning spent running our wheelbarrow up and down the rows of wheat-babies squashing them on purpose (don't worry, I'm not crazy, it's a farmer thing) I came in for lunch and my sister had posted the most gorgeous picture of some reindeer cookies on facebook.  They were really fun-looking, festive and seemed quite doable.

shamefully stolen from my sister which was rather startlingly easy to do....

Of course they required all sorts of ingredients we don't have here and while I considered for a nano-second making my own bikkies then softening them over the back of a muffin tin and then doing the filling so as to be true to the original it was only a nano-second and then we headed to the local supermarket and decided to make do with what we could get.

Came home and got to work:

keeping her eyes and noses straight...

oooo it looks almost like the picture!

a little less like the picture....

having so much fun though!

Amy's work... and this wasn't the end.  Less is more isn't in Amy's vocabulary....

kind of like an Angry Bird?

Meg's on the left and Amy's on the right.  I think the one with the orange nose is almost nearly maybe close to the original but hey it was a fun way to spend a chilly afternoon, a good excuse to indulge in chocolate and marshmallows and they were both thrilled so we'll just call it artistic license hey?

No?

Well, do we at least get points for trying?

Thanks Georgina, the girl really enjoyed making (and eating!) them but I am keen to try to make the original next time because they look so good!
