678 August English Summer Camp

I have a secret.

I go to Summer Camp each year.

I get paid to go and work there.

I feel guilty getting paid to go.

Because I really, really love going to Summer Camp.

Really.

I swear I am more excited than half the kids.

I spend the leadup to camp practically jumping up and down telling parents how much fn it's going to be...

Because it is!

This year's theme was the Olympics (I know, original right? But you can only do that every four years so you have to make the most of it, right?)

We had the kids do sack races:

Apparently these are not done here so there was a bit of confusion but once we gave an example they were good!

And we had them balance a balloon on a sack and run it around a course and back. This was tricky as it's much more about balance and control than straight speed.
(me being bossy but hey that was my job!)

All the camp food was American camp food. As far as I can tell that is Aussie camp food with the addition of bags of potato chips. ;P It was delicious though.

The kids had the option of helping cook instead of doing the olympics in the morning... guess whose kids both chose to do that?

I'm not sure whether Amy was more excited about getting to kneel on the table, use a fan to fan the flames or being the assistant chef but she was THRILLED at this job.

chowing down:

I'm all sad that I have to wait another year for Summer camp.... but that means plenty of thinking time for planning next year's fun!
