Wow, hardly any rice update this year, huh?
I guess I'm just such a veteran rice farmer these days that it's all old hat and not exciting anymore, huh?
Nah, just busy.
We planted glutenous mochi rice as well as regular eating rice this year and after a slow start with colder than usual weather we have a beautiful looking crop coming on.
It has been great this year working in the rice field and then coming home and eating rice from that very same field and our very same efforts last year.
That kind of cycle is really what I like about the farming life- work hard, go home and enjoy the fruits (or grains) of your labour.
Another 6 weeks to 2 months and we'll be eating our fresh rice again.
Ahhh the good life!
