Yet again the preparation wore Amy out (she and Meg cut and arranged the veggies and bread while I poached the chicken and sauted the prawns.
We had one version with wine and one without. Not because I'm terribly concerned about the girls drinking wine in cooking but because they both put on a theatrical display of discomfort when they smelt the wine and I decided better to make a wine-less version from the start than have to make do after we all sat down!
And yet again Amy perked up when it got to the actual eating side of things.
The verdict? "Super cheesey!!" and "Cool forks!!"
One more holiday tea to go. Phew. I'm almost out of culinary inspiration!

That looks so nice! Wonderful family meal. :-D
Mmmm. I haven't done a cheese fondue in ages.
I'll have to see if I can find my kit. Or get another if I can't.
Where did you get the recipe? Or did you just 'zen' it?
That looks totally good. And like Matt, I also haven't had fondue in ages either.
Your dinner posts have been inspriing all week! : )
Thanks- it has been fun. We usually don't eat dinner together with K and I usually at least prep if not cook the meal in the morning before work so the girls don't get to help cook much so it has been fun planning meals and doing it all together. Fun but messy and slow!
Matt- recipe? what's that? A couple of cups of wine and then shake about a cup of flour through the grated cheese before adding to the saucepan- too runny? more cheese. Too cheesey? More wine!
