It's over

Summer that is.

And I'm as blue as a girl can be.

Cher has such a great voice for melancholy days.

Ahhhh,.... summer is over. The cicada chorus is getting quieter and more lonely. The rice is bending it's head and looking bowed down. The persimmon are dive bombing anyone silly enough to walk under their tree. The vegetable garden is looking bereft and awaiting an overhaul from it's summer glory to it's more spartan Autumn garb.

Sigh.

I'm as blue as a girl can be.

I love summer. Live for summer. Feel more alive in summer.

But summer is over today.

Need to think of good things about Autumn.....

uhhhhh.....

apples I guess.....

sweet potatoes.....

the full moon festival....

sport's day.....

nope. Not working.

It's over.

And I'm as blue as a girl can be.

I love Summer too. But I also love the Fall as well. I like seasonal change. Would be bored stiff if I were stuck in any one season for too long.

Stuff to be happy about for Fall. Like you said apples and sweet potatoes. And how about all those yummy one pot meals. Of course by the start of Spring we'll all be sick of them. But we can enjoy them shortly though soon enough. : )

Today is my first real official day of it being over. Branden started yesterday but Noah didn't start until this morning. Now I'm sitting here in a silent house and quite enjoying it. : )

Wow Gina, that is some summer holiday! Meg had 20 days off and Amy's kinder only has three days off at New Year total but I usually keep her home while Meg is home so she gets a holiday and some time with her sister. I wonder if kids in the areas that get longer holidays get more holiday homework? It is a bit of a rush to get Meg's homework done in time to be honest!

Otsukaresama to you and here's to Autumn. And you reminded me- soups and stews cooked over the woodfire. Ok. A smidge less blue. Only a smidge though!

Yes long live the summer!

It's not over in Tokyo - though the nights are a little cooler. MIL said it was 34 in Akita today...

Hope you didn't get too much of a drenching with the typhoon.
