The guy on the far left. He was dressed up as Captain Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean. Right down to the beaded dreadlocks, plaited beard, eyeliner, the half drunk swagger (I had to do a double take the first time as I thought he had really turned up drunk to a kids festival!) and the flowery hand movements when he spoke.
The frog character is our schools mascot and I was commenting to the English teacher next door that they certainly beat us on cool mascots- though I'd guess we had cuteness in the bag- they'd get all the mums and we'd get the under 10s who wouldn't know Captain Sparrow! Such a great rendition though I couldn't imagine what he looks like when he teaches...
Him? He doesn't work for us. That's what he does.
Yup. He's Azumino Jack Sparrow. He gets up and gets dressed like that everyday. It's his thing.
Wow. In Azumino???
I'm floored. What a guy. Azumino is an amalgamated city of four or so small farming towns. It has no real centre, lots of rice and apples and rainbow trout farms and is the last place I would expect to see someone who has taken on a pirate persona fulltime.
Kudos to Azumino Jack Sparrow for having the coolest hobby of anyone I've met around here yet!
