bored

Not me. I love it here.

The potatoes though.

Bored.

Well, boared really.

That's our potato field.

The gaps?

Not failed planting.

Not bugs or mold or potato blight.

Nope.

Wild boar.

They dig up the seed potatoes and eat them.

So, what did we do to prevent future raids?

Electric fence?

Pig dog?

Traps, baits, barbed wire?

Nope, nope, nope, nope nope.

See those three branches lying on the ground. Just lying there?

That is our first line of defence.

Now, I'm not sure whether it's true or not but apparently pigs are quite timid and if they come back and the environment is different they will get scared off.

I guess we'll just wait and see, huh?

Might be boared but never bored, huh?

Just FYI, You need a hunting license to put out traps, but this might be legal.

Send them to us! My dh plants ridiculous amounts of potatoes, and guess who gets to peel and cook them all? I wouldn't mind a boaring, as long as they promise to stick to potatoes, onions and daikon only.

Bloody pig and dear season - and I don't even grow the veggies round here. Granny K pulled up ludicrous amounts of onions today and she said the spuds aren't far away. We have an electric fence round that field now. They still eat most of the watermelon in the other field though. Am a bit skeptical about the stick so let us know if it works. Perhaps I can just get Granny K to go lie out there.

Wow, as much as I would love fresh veggies I am glad that I have never seen a boar in my parts!

well, either we have extra smart boar or not so smart neighbours... maybe a bit of both? ;P Got boared again.....

And yup- if they would only stick to daikon and maybe kiku-imo I'd be cheering!

We get more monkeys than boar around here normally though....
