spot the difference- we're getting there

I love the woodfire.

We use it a lot.

In fact I am sitting in front of it right now.

At the tail end of June that's really wussy I knowbut it is only 9 degrees here tonight...

So, yeah, love the woodfire.

Love that we get given lots of wood.

Don't love that said wood has a habit of accumulating in unwieldy piles.

Of course the solution to this problem is to cut, chop, sort and stack the wood.

Yeah, simple really.

There's just the small issue of our kids, our jobs, the garden and now the rice paddyand sorting wood just seems to get pushed down the to do list until the back yard looks like this:

But last Sunday K and I put in a big day and

wait for it....

Yup, still wood there. But less wood.

That's a start...

That is a lot less wood! I'm most impressed.

AND!!!! You have an Odemari tree in your garden!! We are thinking about buying one. They are so cute and flower so nicely. Do you like yours? How does it do?

BTW, your red primulas are on the move again - I swapped some of the new growth for some yellow ones with Harry's piano teacher!

Thanks Vicky! It's like rennovating- you can only see what you still haven't done and not what you have.

I love the odemari tree, very beautiful pompom like flowers. The leaves are a beautiful green and ridged so interesting to look at, too.

Many of my neighbours are convinced terrible bad luck will befall us due to its presence though as the flowers fall fully formed (rather than petal by petal.) Apparently this means our kids will 'fall' from the family.

We are doing ok so far though. ;P

So happy to hear that the friendship gardening continues!
