a negative start to the day

It was -1.5 degrees this morning.

That's cold...

And at 6:00 it's not even properly light yet.

Poor Meg was miserable.

I was miserable, too.

And this is just the start of winter. Actually I just realised it's still only Autumn. It's not even Winter proper yet....

I wonder if we have a sister school in Okinawa?

LOL about the sister school in Okinawa part. ; )

And goodness has your weather really dropped. This morning when I woke up here in Chiba our weather outside (we have an outside/inside temp gauge) was 40 degrees F. Which is about what....4 degrees Celsius or somewhere around there, I think.

Our sun doesn't come up till after 8:00 here! What is that? Daylight Savings time will come on Sunday, so the sun will come up around 7 - but we will no longer have our longish evenings. I NEED sun!!!!

GW Would that be a wine tasting school!!

I'm glad we're out of here soon-leaving the cold bleak winter behind us for a change!

I presume schools in Nagano are heated. No heaters in Enshu, and it is often below freezing in the mornings :(

Gina- makes me feel better somehow to know that the rest of Japan is getting cooler too. I tend to get all blue and think that it's only us!

Wow, Kim. Do people use sun lamps? I NEED sunlight, too! And you have daylight savings in winter? In Australia it's in summer...

GW- whoa, hold your horses- we're taking our kids with us??? I am going to need a suave manny or two....

achan- we have a kero heater per room. Fabulous, huh? We can lull them into a fume induced stupor then try and teach them.... ;P Actually they have chimney's for the fumes and Meg says they don't even smell much. Better than nothing I guess, huh?
