The girls were out playing until way after dark tonight. And loving it. Huge day here, we cleared all the wood from beside the house- and not the usual musical woodpile move but actual cut/ sort/ stack moving. Wow. And in the process we rediscovered the tire swing. Well actually we never really lost it it was just that the surrounding woodpile was higher than the swing. This renders the swing rather useless.
But not anymore! And look at their faces. Well worth the aching backs I'd say.
Look at those woodpiles. Sigh. Winter bring it on, we're ready! Yes, there's still scrappy apple roots all around the place but that's a fraction of what used to be there and we adults stopped work when we couldn't see anymore. I know, pikers.
Well except that we stopped work to start BBQing. Aren't mum's and my outfits amazingly well co-ordinated? I love yard work days because not only do you get the fulfilling sense of satisfaction at how much you've achieved at the end of the day but you also get the most amazing and easiest bbq dinner ever- shovel the coals from the burnoff pile into the barbie and walah- bring on the meat, the bbq's ready!
