finally!

Sport's Day. And it was bright and sunny. All good things come to those that wait? Or just the law of averages- it couldn't rain forever...

I finished my job looking after car park number 4. Phew... busssyyyyyyy. Actually I had about 10 cars in there by the time I finished and people did follow my instructions. The fact that the other three car parks were full and my instructions were 'you can park here' made it easy I guess.

Amy did her dance to the very hungry caterpillar song.

Meg did her bamboo drumming song

There were relays

And speeches

And stilt walking

And artwork

And lots of grand finale's

And I realised why all the people around me had paparazzi style cameras. Next year the ground will be about 4 times as big. I'm thinking I need to invest in some serious zoomage!

I was all teary during so many events. Ohhh Meg's last kinder Sport's Day... ohhh she's making a speech.... Ohhh Amy's first Sport's Day.... ohhhh, she's completely oblivious to it all and is playing with her friend.... eh?

And that finishes the Sport's Day season for us. I love them but three in a month and I'm kind of worn out.

Need to recharge before the Winter Sport's festival...

Looks like it was a fun (and sunny!) day- I love the bamboo playing video. They sound REALLY good!

Did the in-laws end up making it for it?

I have never been to a Japanese sport day and I really want to go to one- do you think after one though I will have had enough???

My mum likes to tell the story of how at my first ever sports day when I was 5 and in preschool that I ran the 60m race and 30m in my hate flew off and I ran back to get it, put it on and still won the race - she enrolled me in Little Athletics soon after that!

Oh, right on!!! I am so happy your family were able to enjoy the undokai! Looks like the girls enjoyed their undokai very much!

And I'm with you Heather about thinking about a camera upgrade. It is because of Branden's undokai, he had this year on the big elementary school field, that got me thinking about a camera upgrade as well.

And job well done on the parking attendant job!

What a proud mum, every childs dream.
Glad you all had a lovely day and a sunny one at that, and that your 'job' wasn't as bad as you expected.

thank you. True mamabaka proud mummy here I just thought they were so cute. And Lulu- what a great story! I think the trick to surviving Sport's Day is to have a comfy place to watch, refreshments, adequate clothing, a kid or two in it and a camera good enough to see your kid no matter where they are. :)

And in-law free is always a plus. :)
